Every year, the Christmas lighting "Lucy" on Bahnhofstrasse is switched on during night shopping, heralding the Advent season. "Lucy" wraps the evening mood in a magical light and creates an atmospheric atmosphere for visitors and the shopping experience. The Christmas lights on Bahnhofstrasse - named after the Beatles song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" - are the Christmas highlight in Zurich and enchant young and old alike.

SWITCHING ON THE LUCY LIGHTING FOR NIGHT SHOPPING
WHAT IT TAKES FOR SUCH LIGHTING
"Lucy" is the third Christmas illumination on Bahnhofstrasse Zurich since 1971 and is a joint project by architect Daniele Marques together with Charles Keller and Adrian Schiess. The "Zürich Kristall" was produced by the Artemide company. All technical installation and maintenance work is carried out by specialists from Kummler+Matter. INFORMATION FOR VISITORS
The Christmas lighting "Lucy" will be put into operation on 21 November 2024 and will run until 06 January 2025. The lights will be switched on daily at nightfall and switched off again at midnight. (Note: due to this year's threat of a power shortage, the Christmas lights will be already switched off at 22:00 each night.) Over a total length of 1,050 metres, from Bahnhofplatz to Bürkliplatz, the crystals are suspended and can be admired on a walk or from a tram ride. Visit Bahnhofstrasse Zurich during the Advent season and enjoy a wonderful shopping experience.
